Logan’s Memorial Fund for A Light of Hope
Addiction is not a decision but a disease. Last night our family got that heartbreaking call, the call that every family member or friend of an addict dreads. A loving son, brother, and friend had finally succumbed to the disease and was found dead in his home. After battling his inner demons for over ten years with countless rehabs and treatment programs, my brother, Logan Michael Lovingfoss, could not face them any longer. Addiction is a slow death, one that starts with “just one hit” or “just one more drink” until it consumes a person and it takes over their whole life.
Although Logan’s physical body was consumed by this disease, he was a God-fearing and faithful man who served and loved others every day. He was a wild spirit and found adventure wherever he went encouraging all of us to live in the moment. He could make anyone laugh even on their worst day and had that type of smile that can light up the whole room. His impact on others and unconditional love are characteristics that I’ve always looked up to him for, but, most importantly, he protected me from a young age and inspired me to walk with the Lord. My heart is in pieces and there will always be a hole where he once was. Logan was way too young to leave us and as much as I would like to see his smile and hear his voice one more time, I can only be happy that he is now in a better place without the daily agonies and struggles of addiction.
Because of his charitable and selfless heart, I have decided to make this GoFundMe in his honor where all the proceeds will go directly to A Light of Hope. A Light of Hope is a nonprofit corporation in the town Logan and I grew up in that provides support, resources, and community to youths and young adults and those affected by addiction and self-destructive behaviors. Although Logan was not able to overcome his disease, he would be touched to see his death be able to turn around and save the lives of others.
Logie, we miss and love you forever and always. ❤️
