Project Summary:
This project is a live session music video in the Maryhill Community Hall in Glasgow for Logans Close. The live session will be kinetic, a dark and sinister piece focusing on Scotland's entwined history with the development of the anatomical field.

Through this Victorian-Baroque lens we will be exploring themes of Scottish identity, an artists relation to their audience, as well as an important and grisly piece of Scottish history. With narrative vignettes intersecting the live session itself, they will show the disjointed story of a man being brought in for surgery. During the surgery the surgeon removes idols; a thistle, a unicorn, a street sign, items relating to the character. This character will be played by Scott, the frontman of Logans Close. On one level this represents the gutting of an artist during their performance, how an audience forces the artist to extrapolate their innermost feelings and history; on another level it is the dissection of the anatomy of part of the Scottish psyche.

Our Mission:
Across the whole of the film and TV industry in the UK a mear 8% of its workers are from working class backgrounds. The backdrop to this is a top heavy, often cliquey industry which many find it difficult to penetrate regardless of their financial situation. Increasingly, the financial perseverance during the opening chapter of this career is becoming yet more unaffordable for aspiring filmmakers from working class backgrounds. One cause of this is due to how you gain experience; joining likely unpaid shoots, or trying to pay for your own. Basically, your financial standings decides how much you can work, what equipment you can work with, and most importantly, how much experience you can get.
Our project aims to give young people who are emerging as Scotland's next generation of screen talent a chance to practice their craft on a living wage so that it is at no detriment to their time or financial situation. The experience will also give the chance for the Heads of Department to take their first steps as professional employers and managers. Our project will be a stepping stone between young Scottish filmmakers, and the industry.
