Logan’s Cancer Battle

Donation protected
Hello, all. My name is Jodi Spilde, and I created this Go Fund Me on behalf of my friend Emily Budahl and her son Logan. Logan recently learned that a large tumor on his back is a rare form of childhood cancer. He will be undergoing more scans and tests soon to see if it has spread elsewhere in his body. His future consists of radiation, possibly chemo, and surgery to remove the tumor. This will mean many stays in Rochester, MN, at the Mayo Clinic for Emily and Logan while other family is back at home. Any donations would be welcomed for gas and food as well as medial costs and associated expenses. I will try to update with new information throughout Logan’s road ahead, and we all wish him the strength and courage needed in fighting this cancer and for the best possible outcome. Thank you in advance for any donations, and continue to keep Logan in your thoughts and prayers.

UPDATE: 10/12/23 Logan was flown by small plane from the Brookings ER to Sanford in Sioux Falls last night due to pain. An MRI showed some growth in the tumor, but not enough to be causing the amount of pain he has been in. He also cannot urinate on his own and has to use a catheter. He has found some relief with pain meds and was able to get some rest. They are trying to transfer him to Mayo. If they can’t, he’ll likely be sent home with good pain meds until his appt. there on Tuesday. -Jodi

UPDATE: 10/18/23 After more tests and scans early this week at Mayo, it has unfortunately not been good news. Logan’s cancer has spread to his lungs. After a quick trip home, Emily and Logan are returning to Rochester for Logan to begin immediate treatment on Friday. Please keep the prayers, love, monetary donations…anything!!…coming! I have raised the goal to $5,000, and will likely raise it again later on. I, along with Logan’s family, so appreciate all of the donations thus far. Logan also has an Amazon wish list for things that could help cheer him up during this difficult time. The list can be found on Emily’s Facebook page. -Jodi

UPDATE: 11/14/23 Logan finished Day 2 of Round 2 of chemo in Sioux Falls today. He is expected to be released tomorrow night or early Thursday. He is definitely feeling the chemo right now and could use all of the support he can get. He’d been doing great over this past weekend, and he had some family fun activities packed into the weekend - knowing this treatment was coming. Continued prayers and donations appreciated! See Emily’s fb page for more detailed updates. Thank you all!! -Jodi

UPDATE: 11/30/23 Emily and Logan will be heading to Rochester late today where Logan will have multiple appointments on Friday. He will have more images/scans done and start his 3rd round of chemo. On December 11, he will be starting his radiation treatment. Also, he did start losing his hair awhile back and decided to shave his head. A big step for any cancer patient. Please keep Logan in your thoughts and prayers. Chemo has been hard on him, and adding radiation will no doubt take its toll. Wishing all good things for the Budahl/Mosley family during this holiday season! -Jodi

UPDATE: 12/2/23 Great news from yesterday’s imaging in Rochester! Logan’s tumor and spots in his lungs are all SHRINKING! Yay! AMAZING news! He also started his 3rd round of chemo, and they hope to help curb his nausea better. The only discouraging news is that his radiation treatments will have to be done at Mayo and start on 12/11. Hoping for the best! If you can donate to Emily and Logan’s trips to Mayo and associated medical costs, even a small amount is so very much appreciated. As always, more details can be found on Emily’s Facebook page, as well as an Amazon wish list to help keep Logan’s spirits up. Thanks, everyone! -Jodi
