Logan Dean Moyers Jr. "LJ" was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. If you know LJ, you know he is a happy, kind, amazing little man that loves life and all of its adventures. This is another adventure in LJ's life and we need your help. This is LJ's story:


On March 31, 2016, we rushed LJ to the emergency room because he was doubled over in pain in his abdomen. We feared he had a case of severe appendicitis and were hoping we could get him to the hospital in time.

The doctors quickly put LJ through a series of tests, CT scans and x-rays to determine the cause of his severe pain. That's when we got the worst news of our lives. LJ had a large tumor in his lower abdomen that had to be removed immediately. The doctors said it looked like some form of Lymphoma but they wouldn't know for sure until they removed it and performed a biopsy.

We waited for what seemed like forever as the doctors performed surgery on our son. We hoped and prayed for a miracle as we prepared ourselves for the worst.

After a few hours, the doctors returned to inform us that the tumor was twice the size we thought and had also attached itself to his intestines and it was best not to remove. They put LJ back together and brought him back to us to wait for an official diagnosis.



This was the start of the longest weekend of our lives. The first night in the hospital was torture as we tried to comfort our brave little man as he tried to get a little sleep through the constant, excruciating pain. Our hearts broke as we tried to explain that he was still sick but the doctors were doing everything they could to make him feel better.

We called on family and friends to pray for a miracle as we waited for an official diagnosis.

Through it all, LJ has been such a trooper. He is the bravest little boy we have ever seen. His smiles in spite of the pain and his positive attitude have given us the strength we needed to get through the waiting and uncertainty. 



On Monday afternoon, April 4th, we finally received the official diagnosis. Our little LJ has Stage 3 Diffuse Large B Cell Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This was the best news we could have received in light of the situation. The doctors said this is a very treatable form of Lymphoma and that the survival rate is very high.

On Tuesday, April 5th, LJ underwent another surgery to test his bone marrow and spinal fluid to see if the cancer had spread and are happy to know it has NOT! 

We are so happy and relieved that our prayers were answered. It is a miracle that LJ will be able to make it through this.

Though we have a diagnosis, LJ's journey is far from over. He has 6 to 8 months of chemotherapy and many hospital stays ahead of him. That is why we need your help.

We set up this GoFundMe campaign to help with LJ's growing medical expenses. We have great insurance but it doesn't cover everything. We have many months, if not years, of deductibles, copays, and out-of-pocket expenses ahead of us.
