Logan Strzepek

Over Christmas break, our friend Logan Strzepek was diagnosed with an exceptionally rare spinal tumor called ependymoma. As you can imagine, this has been devastating news for the Strzepeks. Surgical removal is the primary (and essentially the only) treatment. Only a handful of neurosurgeons and hospitals in the country perform ependymoma surgeries, which means that the Strzepeks must seek treatment outside of Virginia.

There are a host of unknowns ahead for Logan and his family, but we do know that travel expenses and multiple treatment-related costs not covered by insurance are guaranteed to multiply as they forge ahead on this journey. They also have a significant deductible to meet. We have set up a GoFundMe page to help offset some of these financial stressors and support the Strzepeks during this unbelievably turbulent time in their lives–100% of the funds collected will go towards treatment-related costs. Logan has taken a medical withdrawal from what should have been his second semester at SMU.
