Hi, my name is Tanner, and I am raising money for my brother, Logan Reed, who is recovering from a broken neck. He suffered a transverse orbital fracture of the lamina of his C5 vertebra- he very miraculously retained use of his limbs but is in a great deal of pain. With his injury came the inability to work at his two jobs, as he cannot lift more than 10 lbs. He can no longer work out or participate in any physical activity- and those who know Logan can imagine how difficult that has been for him.

I am writing because Logan is one of the best people I know, and he has had an intense streak of bad luck that has left him in dire need of support. In October, Logan had surgery and developed a severe blood infection immediately following the procedure. He was in the hospital for six days receiving mandatory around-the-clock medical care and undergoing invasive, agonizing procedures. He had a PICC line implanted and required daily intravenous antibiotics for six weeks thereafter. Two months later, he was plagued with kidney stones. He has been to the doctor countless times within the last year, and there are plenty more visits on the radar, as he must wear his traction collar for three more months before they will decide if he needs surgery to correct the shifted disk.

The day before he broke his neck, Logan was at the beach in La Crosse and saved a grandmother and her young grandson from drowning after the boy was swept out by a passing barge. Logan did not hesitate for a second when he heard the boy cry out and expended every ounce of his strength to swim them both to safety. This is only one instance that demonstrates Logan's heroic character, his valor, and his selflessness. He has always put aside his needs for the needs of others, and though he is too prideful to admit it, he is in great need of support.
