Hello, my name is Logan, I’m 22 years old from wales, I have been diagnosed with a spinal AVM, aerial Venus malformation which is an abnormal connection of blood vessels that tangle & latch onto the spinal cord in my case this AVM ruptured 15 days ago & internally bled which coursed me to end up paralysed from my waste downwards completely with no sensation or movement from my waist down, my level of the injury in the spine is T11-T12 area. This has changed and impacted my life massively, I’ve also got a blood clot in my lung due to complications with back to back surgery’s they went n for around 8.5 hours over 2 days but that is being treated. I have been in Hospital for 28 days & now have had both surgery’s of embolisation to block off the feeding tubes to the AVM which went successfully! But as far as ever being able to leave the hospital in the near future once I’ve been sent to a rehab spinal centre to see what we can do there, which is a 3-6 month course. there has to be a lot of changes at my home which is hard for me and my family cost wise as we will need ramps put into the house & garden, stair lifts, wheel chairs, steadys, hopefully an electric chair so I can go outside again & an electric bed & a wet room must be installed into my house. that’s all the main things thought of right now in order for me to be able to live without too much struggling in a day to day, to be able to move around shower ect, I’m also looking into getting some leg support, there are products out there I can look into but these won’t be getting funded by anyone as you’re not looked at as a must but I know you’ll be very helpful in the future but they’re £2,000 I also post on TikTok regarding my whole experience so if you wanna learn a bit more about my situation my TikTok is leo_gingerrr179 so it’s all on there to watch & learn about.
