Logan Duncan-motorcycle accident medical bills
Donation protected
My name is Stacy Duncan, and my 19-year-old son Logan was involved in a motorcycle accident on Sunday, April 24th, 2022. We are not sure of the exact cause of the accident, but the end result is third-degree burns on 60% of his body after the bike caught fire with him on it. I found out from the first woman on the scene who told me that he was walking away from the motorcycle, but he was on fire, so she and another man patted out the flames. I'm horrified thinking about what Logan was feeling at that moment, and I'm not sure I will ever get that image out of my head.
Logan is the youngest of our three children and is handsome, smart, funny, witty, and has always kept us on our toes! He loves cars/trucks and can ride a wheelie on anything with two wheels like nobody we know!! His 1999 Chevy Silverado is his pride and joy, and he takes care of it like a baby.
He is now in the BICU (burn intensive care unit) at Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, where he will begin his recovery process, and we are told that this will take months!! He will be in the BICU for several weeks, have 3+ surgeries, multiple skin grafts, and months of rehabilitation. Currently, he is on a ventilator and feeding tube, they put in a central line and an arterial line and are pumping him full of fluids to support his body in the recovery marathon he is facing. Luckily he has no broken bones or internal injuries, but he is in critical condition with life-threatening burns. We are fortunate to have medical insurance, but that only goes so far, so we are trying to raise money to help cover his medical and rehabilitation bills.
