This is Logan Castellano of London, ON. Logan is the definition of a fun loving, super sweet and compassionate child and a very important member of our tight family. Devastatingly, 33 days ago, he was diagnosed with Cancer - Nodular Lymphocyte-Predominate Hodgkin Lymphoma at the tender age of 5 years old.
Needless to say, this has been a very difficult time for Logan who is confused, frightened and now filled with anxiety. His Parents, Matthew, Angela and his 3 yr old sister Hannah are all desperate to see him successfully through treatment so they can get their little Logan well again.
Unfortunately for Logan, he is highly allergic to the "conventional" chemo medication and experiencing an anaphylactic reaction within minutes of administration. As a result, Doctors at Children's Hospital of London, Ontario are looking to alternate medications to treat him. With these new medication comes additional medical expenses and a larger problem of a shortage.
The road ahead is going to greatly affect the family's finances. With one parent on a leave from work and the other having to take unpaid time off. Over the next 6-12 months the family could really use your support as their income decreases and expenses go up.
Your donation will go towards the following:
- Medicines that are not covered by provincial or private health insurance plans (specifically, oral chemotherapy, antibiotics and medicines to control nausea and pain) - Travel expenses (gas and parking) to doctor, tests and treatment appointments - A place for Logan and his parents to stay during treatments away from home - Meals during travel or treatment - Child care expense for Hannah, Logan's sister. - Help around the house and yard - Special medical equipment and items to make Logan more comfortable
