Hello, my name is Logan Benvenuto. I am 17 years old and fundraising for my Eagle Scout project to benefit San Juan Hills High School Marching Band.

 

I have been in Scouting for 11 years. I started in Cub Scouts when I was 6 years old and earned my Arrow of Light. I bridged over into Boy Scouts to Troop 787, located in Mission Viejo, California when I was 10 years old. As a Boy Scout, I have worked my way through six ranks and currently hold the rank of Life Scout, and I have earned 22 merit badges. In addition, I have held various leadership positions within my troop, from Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and bugler. I have also attended NYLT course, which stands for National Youth Leadership Training. The last goal I have is to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.

 

Eagle Scout is the highest rank a Scout can achieve. Currently, about 8% of Scouts that begin Boy Scouts achieve the rank of Eagle Scout. I have seen this statistic to be as low as 4%. As an Eagle Scout Candidate, I have identified a beneficiary with a need and developed a proposal that my Troop committee has approved. My next steps are to plan out my project, recruit volunteers, acquire the materials and supplies and act as the leader/foreman of the project. Once the project is completed, I must participate in a Scoutmaster Conference and then complete my Eagle Scout Board Review with representatives from my District.

 

The beneficiary of my project is San Juan Hills High School Marching Band. My project is a percussion platform. It will make it easier to transport the drum set my band uses.

 

In order to make my project a reality, I am asking for the financial support of family and friends. Not only will you be supporting me with this ambitious project but, most importantly, the music students of San Juan Hills High School. I have estimated the cost of my project will be about $1500. If you are willing and able to donate to my project, I would greatly appreciate it. Your generosity of any amount, even $10, would help me complete my project and ultimately earn my Eagle Rank in Scouting.
