Logan B. Schick Addiction Recovery Scholarship

Donation protected
Our beautiful daughter, Logan, passed away on May 30, 2022 after a long battle with mental health and addiction issues. In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to create an Addiction Recovery Scholarship in her honor. Logan was a bright pure light in this world who loved fiercely and deeply. A teacher once referred to her as “no respecter of persons”. She explained, Logan only saw people through a lens of love and compassion. She was born with the heart of a Guardian Angel. She was a protector; she was a giver, and she was a defender of those who couldn’t always defend themselves. We could think of no better way of honoring our daughter than by allowing her, in death, to help another young woman in life.

Our goal is to pay tribute to our daughter's life by helping another young woman in need of recovery. We also want to share a little bit about her struggles because we think it is so vital that people understand that addiction is a disease and not a choice. Logan battled so many demons from past trauma; she also suffered from debilitating anxiety and depression. So often, addicts are judged as people who just want to get high. Most people don't realize they are self-medicating because they don't have the coping skills to handle the trauma or mental health issues they have been dealt in their life. Mental Health issues have always had such a bad stigma but they are diseases of the mind no different than cancer. Getting treatment for the disease is crucial, but sometimes out of reach for young people.

Logan had so many dreams she wanted to fulfill; it saddens us deeply that she will not be able to realize those dreams. However, we know she would love nothing more in this world than to help some other young woman receive the help they need and make their dreams come true. Please help us honor our wonderful daughter's legacy by donating generously so that another young life can be saved.

With the help of friends that work in this industry or through family and friends who know of someone in need of help, we as a family, will select a young woman to receive the scholarship. The money will go directly to whatever recovery center is best suited. We would like to keep this fundraiser going as long as possible and keep our daughter's memory alive so we plan to hold a yearly memorial for her and this cause.
