Loftys leg

Hi my name is Kerry and I’m fundraising for lofty. I run a dog boarding/daycare business. I have boarded lofty for 4 years so I know him well. His owner wanted to rehome him because she said it wasn’t fair for him to be left all day every day on his own. Lofty has always been a bit nervous and a bit barky, but I know how lovely he can be and I thought that with time, lots of effort and love he will gain his confidence. So, I offered to take him in and help to find him a new forever home because I didn’t want him to spend any more time on his own. During the last month, he has gained weight, he’s now off his lead and his confidence has grown and he’s doing very well. He’s an absolute sweetheart and would make someone a wonderful companion. However whilst out walking he has torn his cruciate ligament and needs surgery. He’s on painkillers but this will not heal by itself. I don’t think he’s in a lot of pain at the moment but it is stopping him from doing things, he’s limping on 3 legs and his condition will worsen to the point where the inevitable will happen he will have to be put to sleep because the pain will be too bad and he won’t have a good quality of life . Surgery has provisionally been booked for 16 July and if we can raise the money, surgery will go ahead. He is only 7 and deserves a second chance and his forever home will be with me.

With the cost of living spiralling times are hard and I know people don’t have this sort of money but every pound counts.

Ive never done anything like this before but I don’t know what else to do to try and help lofty.
