During these trying times you think about the important things in life like completing that thing you wanted to do but have not done yet. Our project,"Lodo" is that thing; it is something we said we were going to produce and knew that we needed to keep our word and during the most unlikely of times decided to do it!
Despite the pandemic, we dove into production after finding initial funds and began principal photography in October 2020 adhering to all state, federal and union protocols for a safe set. We are thrilled to say that we are 85% completed with photography and we are beaming with pride with what we have achieved.
We are fortunate to have put together the cast and crew that we have starting with our Director, Alessandro Gentile. As a working cinematographer with 15 years under his belt, Alessandro was ready to expand his vision and direct “Lodo” which is poised to be a breakout project for him. Alessandro learned of a short story his Aunt and her son wrote titled "El Alma Del Lodo" or "The Spirit of Mud". He found the essay extremely engaging and became drawn to its metaphor. He decided to develop a screenplay with producing partner Marita De La Torre and this beautiful coming of age story about a boy reconnecting with his Mother’s spirit is the outcome of that effort.
Our cast is led by talents such as Laura Patalano (Netflix-"Gentified"), Daniel Mora ("The Bridge"), and includes appearances by Raul Cardona (“Once Upon A Time in Hollywood”), Jill Remez (“How to get away with Murder”), our own producer Marita De La Torre ("Sunshine Room") and we are introducing the talent of a very special actor in our 10 year old star, Jayden Enamorado. Capturing these performances with his own magical touch is our Director of Photography-Jeff Dolen (HBO Original Series- “McMillions”).
We found Jayden through 'Operation Street Kids' and since his first round of auditions he showed us his heart was in it. We are especially touched by the fact that his father has noted how much of an introvert Jayden was before this project and how much it has already impacted his life.
