Love Loco 

Hello ALL! With my birthday and Christmas around the corner, I'm asking my friends and family to give to me by donating to Loco's medical needs. 

Loco has been diagnosed with a serious cancer type prone to Bernese Mountain Dogs. I'm HEART BROKEN! I’ve been very hopeful all these years that Loco’s size and runt-ness would alleviate him from typical breed problems. We found the growth in his right ear canal and they have recommended having his ear canal removed to ensure getting it all. As invasive as that is, it could also be a good thing. The doctors are hopeful because the growth is in a tough cartilage area it hasn’t been able to spread or move quickly. 

This couldn’t have come at a more difficult time for me financially. I just chose to not have a full-time job over the last 2 months so I could have the flexibility to choose my dream job if offered. I worked odd end part time gigs to afford day to day life. In the end it was worth it! I was offered and just started an internship as River Monitoring Coordinator with one of the most incredible nonprofits I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know, the South Yuba River Citizens League. The 1-2 year contract I have with them will allow me to gain the skills and experiences necessary to pursue a lifelong career in watershed stewardship, but unfortunately does not pay incredibly well. New job means moving costs, new housing deposits, pet deposits, and so on. With all of the past 2-3 months' associated costs, I unfortunately can’t afford my sweet pup’s medical bills. I’m beyond embarrassed to have to ask, but I truly have no other choices right now.

I just want to give my little buddy one more chance of being cancer free! His first and second round of tests cost $1,000. The surgery is estimated at $2,500. Thanks for reading and for all of the love and support you have all offered over the years!
