Hello My name is Jessica Meranza and I am the daughter of Jose Meranza. We were contacted by phone with The most terrible news one can hear, my Father had passed away in his sleep. He was pronounced deceased September 10, 2023 at 5:32 AM. This was a sudden and unexpected tragedy for all who knew him, Especially for his 5 children Joey, Suzette, Jessica, Annie and Little Joe Meranza.
To those who did not know Loco Joe, my father, We would like to share a little piece to you of who he really was. First off, my father was so caring, giving, goofy and just straight out rambunctious (WILD) even when he was feeling rundown and tired, he would literally jump up in a heartbeat for anyone, including a stranger. My father endeared, so many different experiences throughout this lifetime, many bad and good. He taught us how adversity (HARDSHIP, MISFORTUNE) is what builds you as a person. How it provides you with strength and growth to prepare you for this place we call life on earth, so please embrace it. My father was so open and very in tuned with life, feelings and emotions. He understood and was forced to obtain many life lessons from a young age. He was so proud and intrigued with the fact that we were all spiritual beings. He has always been on a life mission till his last breath.
Many people knew my father for his very energetic, loud, bright spirit. He was the town celebrity in his cowboy hat cruising on his motorcycle. He was always involved in something. If it wasn’t him roaming the neighborhood streets on our horses, it was him gathering all the neighborhood kids for watermelon, taking turns on our ATVs or flipping everyone in the park. We grew up with farm animals, Him taking us camping almost every weekend, taking us target shooting, life with him was just a total adventure. He always made sure to focus on giving everyone the most memorable experiences one can imagine. My father was very creative, artistic, and extremely intelligent! He never did know how to read or write but I tell you, he was the smartest man I knew! He could build a house from the bottom up all by himself. You can hand him anything broken and he would be able to bring it back to life. He was always making sure to check on his community to see if there was anything he can do for them. He was handy for everyone and everyone looked up to him. My father was so strong and never gave up. No matter what was going on he bounced right back to life. There will never be anyone close to the person he was.
I wish there was enough space so I can continue to share his wild, crazy, unbelievable life moments but with all this being said, We did not expect to lose our father so soon. We could have sworn we had many more years with him but we were very very wrong. Therefore, we are not prepared and are forced to reach out for help. All donations will go to laying my father to rest. Between his 5 children, we have agreed to cremate him and to have a Public Mass gathering/memorial. We had tried for a viewing but unfortunately it was too late I will have the Mass date for everyone once his remains arrive home.. My Father was so open about death, he made it very clear that he wanted no one stressing and told me, up until the end that whatever I decided, he was okay with. “Whatever you do baby I don’t care, you do what you want to do” his own words.
For Those who aren’t able to donate I totally understand, all I ask is to please SHARE and pray for our family because we are going to need all the love and support as possible.
Thank you to everyone who had a part in my father’s life. We love you and God bless you.❤️
P.S If anything changes, I promise to keep everyone updated.
Once I have a set date, you will all know forsure and everyone is welcome.
THANK YOU❤️
