Locks of Love for Palestine: Clarke Making a Cut for a Cause
Hi,
My name is Clarke and I am 9 years old. If you know me, you will know I have very long hair (but not for long!) I have been growing it for 4 years now and had no idea it would get this long. I am terrified of snipping it off but I have decided to wave goodbye to my luscious locks for a good cause.... On Friday 24th of May I will be taking the chop!
My hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, an incredible charity who make wigs for young people with cancer.
However, I would like take this opportunity to raise money for the people of Palestine. Every penny I raise will be donated to 'Medical Aid for Palestinians' who have already sent 27 trucks carrying over $3.5 million worth of aid through the Rafah crossing into Gaza.
Since October 2023:
- Over 33,000 Palestinians have died.
- Out of this 14,500 were Children like me.
- 75,000 people are injured and even more list beneath the rubble.
- There are now 25,000 Palestinian orphans.
- 1.7 million Palestinians have been displaced from there home.
- 800,000 Palestinians are starving, Children have already died of malnutrition.
- Entire communities have been destroyed.
- 84% of health facilities have been damaged or obliterated.
- Palestinians are in the middle of a humanitarian crisis.
It is crucial to get aid to the people of Palestine because without food, water and medical supplies more people will die. I am so lucky to have a warm home, food on my table and clean water to drink. I get to wake up every day and see my family, I get to go to bed every night knowing I will be safe. Everyone deserves to feel safe.
Helping just one person would mean the world to me, please donate what you can and if you can't donate, don't worry. You can help by sharing my page far and wide to raise as much awareness and money as possible.
"THE MORE MONEY WE RAISE, THE MORE LIVES WE SAVE"
Thank you,
Clarke
