Locks for Lyri

This page is to raise funds for our friend and amazing violinist Lyri Milgram in aid of her battle against Hodgkin Lymphoma, specifically in the purchase of a custom made wig to help her through recovery.

Lyri was diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma in June 2022. The disease has a good prognosis and Lyri has been receiving great support from the NHS, her friends and family, however like any illness, the mental anguish this has put on Lyri has been immense. Lyri is a self-employed freelance violinist still in the early stages of an extremely promising career and by undergoing treatment, Lyri stands to lose a considerable amount of her freelance work over the next few months. We are trying in this instance, to raise money to aid her in the purchase of a custom-made human hair wig, which would mean Lyri will continue to look as similar as possible to as she does now. By having this wig designed especially for her, even using some of her own hair, Lyri can feel more like herself through what has already been a traumatic ordeal. Lyri has also stated that she wants to be able to return to her performing work as soon as she feels able to. By having the wig custom made, returning to work and to some sense of normality, will be made much easier and more dignified.

The full cost of the Custom Wig is £4200 and takes about a month to hand make .

Lyri is one of the most talented and hard working violinists I have ever had the joy of working with. This sentiment is shared with hundreds of other musicians both in the UK and all over the world. Not only is she a phenomenal musician, she is a genuinely kind, thoughtful friend and just overall amazing person. Lyri needs our help, and I really hope that you can support her by giving whatever amount is possible for you to give, to help her keep her identity and maintain some degree of normality.
