My mother-in-law Paula is one of the strongest women I know. She has been fighting brain cancer for over 20 years and raised a wonderful son and worked while doing so. About 2 months ago she was admitted to the hospital with pneumonia and has had many complications. She has been in the local hospital, which has been convenient for the family, but she is now being moved to Halifax as her condition is not improving. As a result, her husband and her son (my husband) will need to travel about 3 hours everyday to see her. Additionally, my husband needed to leave work and does not qualify for EI. We are looking to raise funds to help with travel and lodging expenses as well as lost wages for my husband so that he can be there to support his parents in their time of need.
