LOCKE IS HOME! He is very grumpy and is trying to hide under the bed, which he never does. But everything went well and we have his meds.
Devin and I are beyond words at the response from our community to save our son. Thank you so very much from the bottom of our hearts. We love you all.
UPDATE: Good news on multiple fronts! Most importantly, Locke is going to be okay! He’s coming out of anesthesia right now. He had 3 blockages, the larges being in his colon. He has to stay overnight all alone, but the vets said it was safer than if he came home tonight. It hurts my heart that he’ll be all alone, but we want him to be safe and heal well. Hopefully he’ll forgive us if we fork over the snacks.
Second good news: we’ve gotten more than halfway to our goal! We still don’t know what the final price is going to be, but it will definitely be cheaper than the original place we went to. We’ve already put $2000 down, so it will just be the overnight stay and however much time they had to spend on the surgery. Devin and I are so so grateful to our friends, family, and friends of friends who are helping us get through this! We have no words for how moved we are by the kindness of our community. Thank you all.
Getting him checked in for surgery now. We found a vet that will be cheaper overall than the first hospital he was at. We won’t know the exact total until after the surgery, but thanks to generous donations, we were able to put $2000 down to get him in. Thank you all so much!
Many of you know and love Locke. He ate some thread and now has a vertical obstruction that requires immediate surgery and he can’t have it until AFTER we raise at least $5,400. The surgery could end up costing over $7,000. Please, this cat is our son. He is my registered ESA. He means the entire universe to Devin and me. Please help us save him.
