On Sunday 14th December 2025, fire broke out in a building on Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead. Tragically, one man lost his life and 2 others were taken to hospital. In the aftermath, several people have also been left homeless and have lost all their possessions. The Lochgilphead community are asking for donations to help those affected by these devastating events. All funds raised will be administered and distributed by Lochgilphead Community Council in conjunction with the Community Shop and Lochgilphead Phoenix Project.

Brian MacLennan is the treasurer of the Lochgilphead Community Council and set up this appeal on behalf of the community council and community shop. All funds will be transferred to the Community Council bank account in the first instance. Discretion and confidentiality is very important to us and we will work with ACHA and other local groups to ensure all money gets to those who need it to help with their losses.
