Ryan Pejakovich, a sophomore who attends Climax-Scotts High School, will be competing in the 2024 Junior Varsity National Untied States Powerlifting competition that will be held on Thursday, April 4th, 2024, in Baton Rouge Louisiana.
He qualified in the 220 pound weight class on January 20, 2024, that took place in Goodrich, MI with a 1,278 pound total.
Since that time, he placed first in his 220 pound weight class at the regional qualifier in Napoleon, MI on February 3, 2024, with a 1,300 pound total.
He then competed at State on March 2, 2024, in Lexington, MI breaking not one, but two, state records for squat and bench press.
The squat record was 520 pounds in 2018. He now holds the record for JV at 525 pounds.
The bench press record was 315 pounds in 2008. He now holds this record for JV at 320 pounds.
He placed second overall in his JV 220 pound weight class with a total of 1,345 pounds.
Ryan also spends time mentoring other students who have an interest in powerlifting.
As a young man who is determined to achieve a win at Nationals, he is seeking a financial goal of $3,500 to represent the Climax-Scotts and surrounding communities for his registration fee, flights, and hotel for this outstanding opportunity.
This is not a Climax-Scotts High School event or in any way affiliated with the Climax-Scotts Athletics department.
He would be honored with your personal, professional and community financial support to represent youth in powerlifting.
