Local Heroes Whayne & Jo Need Your Help After House Fire
Donation protected
The electrical fire that lit up Whayne & Jo's house Fri 27th June was quickly put out only to reignite early hours the next morning burning their home to the ground. Whilst the house was covered, the contents were not. That's why we've launched this fundraiser to help them!
Help us help these local heroes who have fostered 36 children including 8 long term foster kids and currently volunteer daily at the local Sussex Inlet op-shop, volunteer with Kairos Prison ministry helping people with family who are incarcerated and serve weekly at their local church.
How the funds raised will be used:
All money raised will be used to refurbish their home. They need everything! We will be using it to purchase new furniture (loungeroom, bedrooms, laundry, kitchen, dining ect) and new linen (towels, sheets ect).
About the fire, their daughter Sarah wrote:
The iconic A-frame house.
My childhood home.
Every corner, every crevice held a memory. The doorframes were still etched with our growth, marked with the passing years
This house is embedded in my childhood.
The key never left the front door, always open.
Home to so many children that needed shelter. The floor was always sandy from footprints straight off the beach. The walls were hung with shark jaws, surfboards and my dads amazing drawings.
The house that echoed late nights, loud screaming, love, grief and pure chaos. It was the legacy of our family.
Inside those walls held memories of my Nans, my Pops, my siblings who have passed. All the moments we made long before social media.
The home my Mum and Dad should be sitting in, finally peacefully and quitely after raising an army of children inside. Thankfully were not inside yesterday.
Memories we can no longer look at. Last items we can no longer touch. Many pieces of our upbringing, now returned to the earth in ashes.
A final and devastating goodbye
Will you consider donating $70 to this fundraiser to help refurnish these community heroes' home after a house fire took everything?
