Local First Responder Family Needs Our Help

My name is Kelly Beck and I am fundraising for my friend Steve Drum, a Deputy Sgt. with the Lee County Sheriff's Office, and his family. He is currently fighting for his life due to Covid related pneumonia at the Cape Coral Hospital. He was hospitalized August 1st and was almost immediately put on a ventilator. Since that time he has also undergone a tracheostomy and had a feeding tube inserted in the hopes he can be weaned from the ventilator. Everyday has been a battle. The doctors are optimistic, but Steve will have a very long road ahead of him once he gets transferred to a rehabilitation facility.

Steve has a beautiful wife, Michele, and 4 children, with the youngest still in college. He has worked for the Sheriff's office for over 23 years, works with the Sheriff's dive team and does additional detail duties to help supplement his income. Unfortunately, with the medical bills piling up along with the regular bills, his family is at risk for losing all he has worked for his whole life without his income. My hope is that through this fundraiser, we can remove the financial burden they are facing so that they can focus on Steve's recovery.

This turn of events has turned all of their lives upside down.
