Local family & business need your help

My name is Tim and I am a resident of Panama City Beach, FL. The Gulf Highlands Beach House Cafe is a favorite of locals and tourists alike, and owners/operators Tom and Adam are not only brothers but also fantastic members of our community who need some help.

 

Over the last few weeks, the property owner has shut down the family business for renovations. Due to some unforeseen circumstances, Tom and Adam are now being told it could be several more weeks—maybe even months—before they are allowed to reopen.

 

The timing couldn’t be worse as on March 18th Adam was rushed to the emergency room. With a mix of serious cardiac issues and only 20% of his heart working, the family almost lost him. Adam remains in critical condition and the hospital is working on getting him airvacced to a facility with a specialized cardiac care unit. The family's biggest hurdle here is that Adam does not have health insurance, so not every facility will take him.

 

On top of not having insurance, there has been no income since the restaurant is closed and there is no money to pay personal, treatment, or business expenses.

 

The family has worked together to attempt to keep things going, but since the property owners have decided to keep the family business closed, they are unable to operate as the busy season begins and will have no financial relief to pay for expenses associated with his condition, rent, and other bills until the property owner allows them to reopen. The family is trying to hang in there, but with things being so uncertain, there is no guarantee for the future.
