Local cat Leo

Unfortunately Leo, a well known and beloved member of spotted Coalville has been involved in a hit and run two days ago. He has already undergone extensive care to stabilise him at Cockburns Vets. He now requires facial reconstruction and has been referred to a specialist vet in Swindon as the care he needs his beyond the expertise of Cockburns.

This will involve him having his fractured jaw and chin repaired.

Our choices were limited to either pay for specialist care or put him to sleep but we have been told to expect the costs to run up to £10,000.

We find ourselves in such a horrible dilemma but there is no way we will give up on Leo when we have been assured he can make a full recovery with this treatment.

Unfortunately we are now at the limit of our pet insurance with no idea how we are going to fund all of his treatment moving forward. £10,000 is so much and we are scraping together all that we have.

This is a personal plea to anyone that might be willing to help Leo. He is travelling down to Swindon where he will undergo surgery tomorrow morning. If you could please help it would mean everything to us.

We completely understand if you can't donate but we would be so grateful to anybody who can or even well wishes for Leo. He's loved by so many and we are heartbroken that this has happened to him.

As a family he is a big part of our lives and we would be lost without him.
