Hello Arlington family and friends! As you may have heard, I was involved in a head on collision with an electric scooter while riding my bicycle with Derpina. Fortunately I absorbed the brunt of impact and Derpina is ok, although I have fractures in my vertebra, sternum, and forearm to distract me from the skull-deep infected head wound. As many of you may know, my mother has been struggling with severe health problems for the past year, and she has a fractured collarbone in dire need of surgery. My injuries prevented me from working for a week and I’ve been supporting my mom financially as well since her savings ran out. With the government shutdown it is unlikely that she will receive the 3/4 of her income she has been surviving without for the past 3 years since my father retired. I’m humbly asking for help from my family, friends, neighbors, and community to aid my mother and I so we don’t miss rent and can have the medical care necessary to heal. I love you all and just your company and support has helped through this perfect storm of tragedies.
