My name is Kimberly Jones and I am the Founder and CEO of LOC FEST NYC.

I hope that you are doing well and have been safe as we deal with the Coronavirus outbreak that’s taken a toll on our daily lives. It is my hope and belief that things will slowly get back to normal in the coming months, which is why we have decided to go forward with the planning for our third annual LOC FEST NYC celebration, which will take place September 12, 2021 at Commodore Barry Park.

LOC FEST NYC is a cultural event that takes place in Brooklyn, N.Y. The festival pays homage to the Loc’d community by introducing existing history, new history, fashion, Loc’d hairstyles, local entrepreneurs, artists and small business owners. Through its mission, this celebration educates our communities and surrounding areas on the history of Locs aka Dreadlocks, Rastafarian cultures, music and much more!

Loc Fest NYC attracts thousands of supporters along with vendors tethered to the hair care industry, Loc Culture as well as the evolving contemporary hair culture. The initial inspiration for the Loc Fest NYC event concept come from the diverse cultures who had Loc'd hair since the pre-Bob Marley era to present, the growing community of people who adorn Loc hair and the community whose reasons for Loc hair is spiritually rooted. Additionally, there are beauty salons and Locticians throughout the country providing services exclusively dedicated to Loc’d hair styles.

Overall, the true purpose of this event is to raise an awareness, educate and celebrate the roots of Loc'd hair and the ever growing Loc'd culture. Loc Fest NYC is also a festival that will not be possible without the support of our community and sponsors. We hope that we can count on your support to make this year’s event even better!
