On August 7th, 2018, I had a seizure. My mom and dad thought it might have been a one-time thing, but over the next 8 days I had a series of 12 more. They took me to the ER right away, ran tons of tests and, when all the tests came back negative, they started me on a medication called Phenobarbital. It's making me a little loopy right now, but I haven't had another seizure since, so I think it's working!
This process is really scary (and super expensive) for all of us, but my parents are determined to figure out what's causing my seizures and how to prevent another one. The next step is to meet with a neurologist on September 7th and schedule an MRI, which could cost a whole lot! Unfortunately, my parents can't quite afford all of this on their own.
We've laid out a breakdown of costs below. If you would be willing to pitch in for my medical bills, that would be wonderful! Anything and everything helps.
Medical Care Breakdown:
-Temporary seizure-preventing medication, initial blood work, x-rays, fecal testing, coagulation panel ($700)
-Overnight ER stay, liver toxicity test, evaluation ($1,149)
-Appointment with neurologist scheduled for 9/7 ($155)
