Hello.

My name is Haley Vandervort. I am a 25 year old caregiver in Portland Oregon.

To put things plainly, I have been endowed with an overabundance of breast. I am proportioned in a way that does not lend to this being well balanced on me. I frequently experience back pain which affects my occupational ability and quality of life. I have trouble sleeping; often feeling like I've got "obstacles" keeping me from becoming comfortable. I also find myself slouching in order to perform any task that requires my arms out in front of me. My back, my self-esteem, and job are being impacted and I am ready to make a change.

I developed very early. I began to initially develop breasts in fifth grade, growing to a B cup by my freshmen year of high school. However, in that same year, I jumped 3 cup sizes to a DD. I have had continued growth through college, and even past then until now, where I am at a 36HH; and I am not confident that this will be a plateau.

I have been having chronic back and neck pain. Any bending that I have to do has an extra added weight from my upper half and it has put such a strain on my lower back that it has caused it to become incredibly painful, and even seize up entirely at times. I have attended physical therapy for this, incorporated more muscle building exercises to target those areas, and I have even missed work at times due to the intense pain.

Through my neck and shoulders, the strain tends to worsen and can often lead to headaches that move up the back of my neck, over the top of my head, and down behind my eyes. This can progress into an intense migraine over the course of an hour or two and happens around twice a week.

As a woman, I feel that I have the right to comfort in my body. This will help me to achieve that. To be able to use my arms out in front of me without having to hunch would do wonders for my back, neck, and shoulders. Especially since we’re all washing our hands so frequently these days!

I previously mentioned working as a caregiver. My client is a high fall risk who can no longer stand on his own. Therefor, the majority of my job involves lifting a 230lb. man. This becomes an impossible challenge when pain factors in.

I have come to realize that having such overwhelming issues arise from this by the age of 25 means that these issues (despite my best efforts) are going to progress as I age. If I do not put a stop to this soon, I am fearful that there will be irreparable damage. Not to mention the great discomfort I am feeling in the meantime.

The reason I am asking for your help is simply put: healthcare is tricky in the U.S., especially now. Because of Covid, I missed my window of eligibility to obtain health insurance through my employer. In the spring, I had to take time off work to isolate, due to the circulation of the virus. In doing so, I lost my eligibility for insurance through my employer. The application point was just after my return to work and I no longer had the recent hours to support insurance. I am also ineligible for health coverage through the Oregon Health Plan.

The doctor I have chosen is reasonably priced, but it doesn’t seem to be an indication of quality. Having heard first hand experiences and observed this physician's “track record” , I am confident in my decision.

To summarize, I do not have the means to address this myself, but I am unhappy with my current state (and quite uncomfortable). If you are able to contribute to my procedure it would be greatly appreciated.

If you are unable to financially contribute but would still like to show your support, please share this! It helps so much to get the word out!

Thank you so much.
