Rock Den Parking upgrade;

Our next major action plan at "The Rock Den" is to add more parking. The LMRCC Scale Crawler Competitions Association is looking for your help!!

Our projected costs for this project are as follows.
Machine delivery, operator, and removal for 3 days of work $5500
Materials estimated at 6 tandem dump truck loads $4500
Total cost $10,000.

Our Story-
We are a community of remote control vehicle enthusiasts centered around super scale and competitive rock crawling radio controlled (R/C) Trucks and cars.

Through close collaboration with the city of Mission and BC Hydro, we secured the land use of a right of way area just east of the Stave Lake Dam for a pilot project we now call “The Rock Den” . The interest and community support for the Rock Den has been growing steadily since its inception. With the increase in interest our current parking area has become too small, and now we are looking to make our first major expansion project - A larger parking area.

A little History of our club -
The original group “Lower Mainland Radio Control Crawlers” was formed in the early 2000’s and has grown into a strong and diverse community of like-minded people. Fast forward almost a quarter of a century to 2025 and we have grown to a local online community of over 2.5k people! and we were looking to take the next leap. We needed a permanent location to host events and bring the Radio Controlled community together. We had identified an area in Mission we thought would be an ideal home for our community to continue to grow, and to hold our community events, so we set to work and as mentioned secured an agreement for use of the property to establish an R/C park, and "The Rock Den" came to life!
It was around this time that the next logical step was also to form an official association, and as such the "LMRCC Scale Crawler Competitions Association" was established. The first and only scale R/C association in Canada.

Now and into the Future -
Over the last 2 years our community has worked hard to grow the "Rock Den" by hand digging countless yards of soil to expose mono rock formations (large masses of granite rock) to hold RC rock crawling competitions on. Also Cutting and forming over 4km of scale trails including features like; a full scale camp ground, abandoned mine, various cabins and shacks, as well as a scale replica of the Nahatlatch Fire tower (lost in the Kookipi Creek wildfire in 2023). "The Rock Den" continues to grow with more mono-rock exposed, and ever expanding network of trails and popularity.

When we first opened the site we hand cut a section of flat ground for a parking area that will accommodate approximately 12 cars. With the amazing growth we have had, we have quickly out grown it and the construction of an expanded lot that will support us now and into the future is a major undertaking.
We have enlisted consultants from several companies for their advice and expertise on this project, and to help get an idea of what the project may take financially to get done.
The plan would be to scrape and flatten the existing parking area for a tent and vendor area at events. Then create a smaller parking area on the sloped area towards the creek for vendor parking.
Below the existing parking area there is a large area we have identified as an ideal location for a large community parking area that will accommodate parking for us into the future.

In order to raise these funds we are looking to our community for help through this Gofundme fundraising campaign as well as through community support campaigns.

We thank you in advance for your generous donation to make the Rock Den a bigger and better place for years to come!
