Lloyd's Little Lorry (Wheelchair Van)
Donation protected
August 21st 2017, Lloyd Cornelius entered this world at 7.40pm. Weighing 8 pounds, 51cm in length and as cute as could be.
For the next 6 months I watched my little boy grow and blossom. Until suddenly he started started missing developmental milestones. This was the beginning of our long 2 year journey to a diagnosis.
Lloyd has a diagnosis of 'IQsec2 Associated Disorder'. This is a genetic mutation that occured randomly and is not inherited from any relatives.
This is a VERY RARE disorder, so rare it does not yet have an official syndrome name.
Approximately 300 people worldwide have been diagnosed with approximately 10 of those in Australia.
Lloyd has also been diagnosed with Epilepsy, Asthma, Hyperopia, Cortical Vision Impairment, extreme hypermobility and hypotonia.
Lloyd is non-verbal and is considered non-mobile although he currently attends physiotherapy, exercise physiology and occupational therapy. With a goal to learn how to walk in a mobility walker independently.
We are hoping to raise funds for a wheelchair van as I currently lift Lloyds wheelchair (30kgs - without the tray) into my car, as well as Lloyd (20kg).
NDIS will fund the conversion (Approx 45K) but not the car itself.
