Lloyd Snow Medical Help

Donation protected
I am fundraising for my father-in-law Lloyd Snow. Lloyd is a long time resident of Ingonish, NS.  He is a father and most importantly a grandfather. Lloyd was injured by a burn to the foot a few months back, this did not heal and progressively got worse over time. Lloyd drove himself to his local hospital in Ingonish where the Dr told him to take Naproxen and go back in 2 weeks. During this time he was developing gangrene in his right foot toe. He called his son Brent in Halifax to go get him and take him to a hospital in Halifax. Brent drove to get Lloyd and got him right to the QE2, on the way back to Halifax Lloyd was in massive amount of pain, at some points Brent thought he would have to call a ambulance. Lloyd had since been in and out of the hospital with VON nurses visiting at our home daily, he has undergone 4 surgeries in 3 weeks. The first surgery was vascular (right leg revascularization) then the 2nd was removal of the gangrene toe, 3rd was removal of two toes beside the first toe removal and the infection was spreading and not healing. Yesterday Lloyd called us to sadly inform us that he was going in today to have a partial leg amputation. During all this time Lloyd has suffered major set backs at our house and while in the hospital. Lloyd took a massive heart attack while home with us and his grand daughters, developed severe fluid on his lungs to the point of not being able to breath, sleep, lay down or communicate. Lloyd had also been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. My husband is a current member of the Canadian Armed Forces and was due to deploy this month- he made the decision to stay back on compassionate leave to help assist and be here for his dad. His grand daughters see how hurt and sick Lloyd is and has been seeing his gangrene toe, stitches down his arm and leg from the vascular surgery, nurses visiting our house daily and now will see their bop eventually come home to us with a prosthetic leg and wheel chair.  Lloyd will be spending time at the Rehab centre here in Halifax. During this time we as his family and friends need to help Lloyd with getting his life and independence back. Brent and I now have to figure out ramps for Lloyds house (and possibly ours while he is here healing and getting on his own), medial equipment such as chair with lift, bathroom handles, possible new walk in shower (he has a high sided tub), widen doors for wheelchair and more. We are unsure of everything Lloyd will require at the moment. I will update as this information comes to us.
This will also help Brent with travel to and from cape Breton to make sure these adjustments are made. This will also help with gas and parking fees we are paying out of pocket.

Any questions or if you would like to send Lloyd a card to say hi, I'm more then willing to provide our address and hand deliver to him

We need your help, Lloyd needs your help.  I thank you for taking the time to read this.
