Sunday, July 20th, 2025, I received a call that nobody ever plans to get. My sister informed me that the County Sheriff's Office came with the news that our father, Lloyd Kaiser, had passed away in Ypsilanti, MI. Our dad has been fighting lung disease for the last 3 years along with a magnitude of other health problems.

Dad was a 68-year-old retired Army vet living in a senior living apartment in Ypsilanti, MI. He spent his days roaming around the building, stopping in to check on others and delivering packages to others that were not as mobile as he was. Although Dad was dependent on an oxygen machine, he made sure to always stay helpful in any way he could.

Dad also loved working with Angel Care, an assisted living program that goes around helping seniors, bringing them warm meals, and making sure they were alright. Although Dad was not employed by them, he would go room to room helping however he could. Upon going to the facility this week, I had many people come to me with tears in their eyes, telling me how they loved that my father would come to them and pray over them.

My sisters and I are at a loss with Dad's sudden death. With my oldest sister not able to get out of the house after a car wreck on the 4th of July and my little sister having to stay close to help her out, I am forced to stop working in order to drive 3 hours away to wrap things up down there and figure out the logistics of Dad's belongings back up north.

We are trying to raise funds to give our Dad the funeral and memorial he deserves. We are currently trying to work with the VA and with Social Security as they might be able to help with a little bit of the cost. Thank you for your time and have a blessed day.

Funeral service plans are not yet decided, but GoFundMe is forcing me to select a date to let everyone know when the money is needed. We will be selecting a date as soon as we can figure this all out. Dad's family are all from Ohio, so while hoping we can get this done promptly, it will all depend on when things work out for everyone.
