Honoring Michael Almedina: Service, Sacrifice, and a Legacy That Lives On

We are raising funds to establish the Michael Almedina Scholarship, created in honor of our brother, friend, Marine, and beloved member of our community.

Michael dedicated himself to a life of service, leadership, and commitment to others. He was a proud Marine whose impact extended far beyond his time in uniform. To those who knew him, Michael was a friend, a brother, and someone whose presence left a lasting impression on the people around him.

In honor of Michael and on the first anniversary of his passing, I will be traveling from New York to Washington, D.C., to run the 2026 Marine Corps Marathon a race that carries particular meaning because of Michael’s service as a Marine. This run is more than a personal challenge; it is a tribute to his life and an opportunity to transform his memory into something that can continue serving others.

The goal of the Michael Almedina Scholarship is to support students at Brentwood High School on Long Island as they pursue higher education and take the next step toward their futures. We hope to award the second scholarship at the end of the 2026-2027 school year in June 2027.

Michael believed in the importance of service, education, leadership, health, and community. Through this scholarship, we hope to carry those values forward not simply by remembering the life he lived, but by investing in the lives of students who are just beginning to write their own stories.

Every contribution, regardless of size, brings us one step closer to establishing this scholarship and creating an enduring legacy in Michael’s name. Your support will help provide a deserving Brentwood High School student with an opportunity to pursue their education while ensuring that Michael’s commitment to service and community continues to have an impact for years to come.
