The Llewellyn School Big Build
Donation protected
Dec 2015 life took a very different turn for one of our Charity (Louie's Helping Hands) Trustees Sara and her family, when unfortunately the school their son Louie attended (The Royal School for Deaf Children in Margate ) closed unexpectedly. This left Louie who has a rare chromosome deletion, without a suitable school place due to his complex medical and physical needs.
Sara & her husband Phill quickly realised other local families were also left in a similar situation, so decided to open their own school and nursery in an annex linked to their home. The Llewellyn school and Nursery became a registered independent school & Community interest company (CIC) in January 2017. The school has grown from strenght to strenght having now outgrown the annex.
Quex Park Estate came to the rescue, having hit brick wall after brick wall looking for suitable premises to relocate too. Anthony Curwen the Managing director of Quex Park kindly offered us a plot of land to build a timber framed school within their grounds.
On the 14th February 2018 planning permission was granted with an unanimous vote for the new school to go ahead!
Louie's Helping Hands, Charity No 1167225 supports the children attending the school by providing some of the valuable therapies the children require as well as specialist equipment.
We have decided to take on this crazy project and support the new school build as much as we can through fundraising and grant applications ( We are receiving no government funding to build the school)
☆☆This is where we are asking for your help, if you can spare a few pounds to help us build a life changing school we would be eternally grateful. Every penny is greatly received however big or small.♡♡
Many thanks in advance
Tania, Sara, Debbie and Angie
