Dearest friends,
Neil and I are writing to you today about a family who is very  near and dear to our hearts.  They live on a remote farm in South Africa.  The mother is almost completely blind by cataracts in both eyes.  As many of you know, 50% of the world's blindness is caused by cataracts, which is a curable condition by surgery.  Our friend has seen an eye doctor who is capable to perform the surgery in South Africa, but the family does not have the $5500 that is needed to cover the cost.  Meanwhile, her son who is like a brother to us, has put his dreams and talents on hold to work overseas to save up money for the operation.  It has been a slow and painful process.  This is a person who not long ago worked and lived a productive life, and now is living in almost total darkness.  So friends, would you please join Neil and I in raising the $5500 needed to give her sight again?   Would you please allow her to once again see the handsome face of her son when he returns to her?  In addition, we also covet your prayers over this whole process.  Please pray for skills for the doctors and a successful surgery and recovery.
