LK runs her first New York marathon for Larne Adult Center!

A little old Larne girl will be doing the New York marathon!! I recently hit my donation goal for the National Down Syndrome Society for 2024 TCS New York City Marathon, the charity I am running for this year. So with the time left, I'd love to raise any remaining money for Larne Adult Center back home in NI.

The photo above is of a LEGEND, my wee brother, Rhys Kerr. Rhys lives back in Larne, NI, with the rest of my lovely family, and has always required full time care. He goes to Larne Adult Center several days a week, and we are always so grateful for the care and fun they provide.

Rhys never developed speech throughout his life and has had a rocky road with health issues, but that hasn't stopped him being the funniest guy in the room with a smile and laugh that warms your heart. He is the best thing to happen our family, and taught us all kindness, patience, and my siblings and I learned how to be carers from a young age.

I moved to New York 12 years ago, and knew that if I ever did the marathon, I would want it to be with a charity that helps to support families with disabled kids and changes public perception for those with Down Syndrome.

So please help support our local Adult Center, which helps care for adults of all ages and disabilities, by making a donation here ☺️
