Lizzy's 2nd CFL Brain Leakage Surgery
Donation protected
This is for a 2nd surgery to Help Lizzy Treat her Medical Diagnosis.
Lizzy will have a 2nd surgery on February 23, 2021 in Dallas. She will have a shunt procedure to drain the cerebrospinal fluid.
My niece Lizzy has been diagnosed with
a cerebrospinal fluid leak (brain leakage). This is all unexpected & is a medical
emergency. It is very uncomfortable
because it causes extreme headaches &
leakage all day through her nose. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is a clear fluid
that surrounds the brain and spinal cord. It cushions the brain and spinal cord
from injury and also serves as a nutrient delivery and waste removal system for
the brain.
What is a cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak?
Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leak occurs
when CSF escapes through a small tear
or hole in the outermost layer of
connective tissue (called the dura mater) that surrounds the brain and spinal cord and holds in the CSF. The tear or hole
allows the CSF to leak out.
The loss of CSF causes the previously
cushioned brain to sag inside the skull,
which results in a headache. Loss of fluid also causes a lowering of pressure within the skull, a condition called intracranial
hypotension.
Lizzy does not have insurance with her job. She is a hair stylist.
We are asking family & friends to give a
donation to assist with medical/travel
costs. Her doctor here
recommended she go to Dallas.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts
❤️.
If you have questions or concerns, please reach out to me on Facebook Messenger. I am happy to answer any questions.
Thank you and God Bless!
