Liz's Shakespeare Training

Donation protected
Hi!  I'm Liz.  I love Shakespeare.

I recently got accepted into the world renowned Month-Long Intensive training program for actors with Shakespeare & Company in Lennox, MA for next January, 2018.

The cost:  $4,750.  If paid by September, 2017, the cost is lowered to $4,000.

I often joke, that I am a struggling artist, or a hungry actor.  But the truth is, I work very hard to support myself as an artist.  Most theatrical jobs available are unpaid, or offer a small stipend for a project that could last months.  My point being, I don’t have $4,000 lying around to pay for this training.

Your donation will help me pursue my love for Shakespeare and bring my acting to the next level.  Any amount, big or small, is appreciated immensely, and will be thanked in words, hugs, and special prizes! Sharing on facebook is also meaningful!

More about Liz:

Thirty-something from the south shore, Massachusetts, living in the picturesque Jamaica Plain.  She is silly, passionate and a devoted friend and daughter/sister/cousin/niece.

Liz began her theatrical career at a very young age, when she with her sister, brother, and neighbors created their own sketch comedy show in their driveway called Square House.  From there, her mother signed her and her sister up for acting classes, and had no idea at the time that she had created a couple theatre monsters!  Although parting ways for college, and residing in different cities now, the two of them have not given up on their dreams of being actors since.
Liz (right) and her sister...it's clear they've caught the theatre bug!

Liz studied theatre at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont, and during that time, spent a year training in London at the British American Drama Academy where she hugged Fiona Shaw, blurted uninteresting facts at Kevin Spacey and accidentally threw a water bottle at Alan Rickman.  It was there that Liz discovered the magic of Shakespeare.  She was introduced to the plays’ high stakes, the passion between lovers, the beautiful spoken Queens and hilarious fun clowns.  Then, a couple years later, she started working for The Martha’s Vineyard Playhouse, and performing in their beautiful outdoor amphitheatre in its Shakespeare productions.  That’s where Liz felt her happiest—tromping around as Grumio, throwing herself at her husband’s twin as Adriana, and sword fighting and swashbuckling as the beloved Mercutio.  She realized Shakespeare was her favorite, and she would always want to tromp and throw and swashbuckle with him.

Liz currently performs with Magnificent Bastard Productions' Sh!t-faced Shakespeare as Benvolia, Leonata and Hermia at The Rockwell Theatre in Somerville, MA and Laugh Boston in Boston.  She also is finishing a year-long tour with The Bay Colony Shakespeare Company as Lady Macbeth, Gertrude and Feste.
