Liz’s Recovery Fund

Hello! My name is Sarah and I’m writing on behalf of my mom, Liz Lonergan. Those who know her are well aware of what an incredible healer she is, but for the unfamiliar, I’ll provide a little background. Liz became a registered nurse in 1984 and worked in hospital operation rooms until the mid-late 90’s, at which point she decided to lean full time into a calling toward more holistic and hands on healing modalities. It began with various types of relaxation and therapeutic massage, then  branched out into bioacoustic therapy, structural integration, psychophysical healing, thermography, and herbalism. The Center For Body & Soul, which is the home-base-heart of her work, has been in the same beautiful location for the last 23 years, and has seen an incredible community grow alongside and around it. My mother has given everything she’s got to her work, clients, friends, and family.

Now, it’s our turn to support her.

On November 13th, Liz will be having a full hysterectomy to remove several large fibroids that have developed and seriously impaired her ability to safely, comfortably do her work, as well as adversely affected her overall quality of life. We’re hopeful that the surgery can be as minimally invasive as possible, but there are some factors that limit her doctor’s ability to gauge that until the day of surgery. We’re told that the expected recovery period will be at least 4-6 weeks, wherein she will not be able to do any body work. For someone whose work is largely physical, and who is self-employed & not financially wealthy, that recovery period is daunting to say the least. The fundraising goal of $6k will go toward her out of pocket expenses related to the surgery and to cover lost wages while she is unable to fully work.
