My name is Chelsea, and I’m creating this fundraiser with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness. In May, our beautiful mum Liz, only 56 years old, was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, which has now spread to her liver and lungs. She had been experiencing symptoms for a long time that were unfortunately missed by her GP. By the time we finally had answers, the cancer was already advanced.
Despite the heartbreaking news, we held on to hope. We were told there was a chance for chemotherapy and even the possibility of a trial drug. But due to delays in the system, waiting almost 80 days from diagnosis, it was too late. When she was finally ready to begin treatment, the cancer had spread aggressively and her liver had begun to fail. We’re now facing the reality that her time with us is likely measured in weeks, not months.
Our mum is one of the strongest, most selfless people I know. She’s spent her life putting others first, even as she quietly battled chronic health issues. She never had life insurance, and I simply cannot afford to give her the farewell she deserves.
We lost my dad to cancer just 5 years ago at the age of 53. Losing both our parents to this cruel disease is something I never imagined I’d face so soon. I had even rushed and booked my wedding for this December, hoping Mum could be there. Now, that dream is gone. All I want now is to make her final days full of love, peace, and comfort.
I’m fundraising to:
• Help fulfill her final wishes and small bucket list moments
• Cover the costs of a meaningful funeral and beautiful headstone
• Allow me to spend time with her without worrying about work or travel costs (I live 600 miles away)
If you’ve ever lost someone you love, you know how deeply it hurts, especially when you feel helpless. If you can give even a small amount to help us give Liz the peace, dignity, and love she deserves, we would be forever grateful.
Please help me and my brother show my mum how much she is loved, celebrated, and never forgotten.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
