Hello friends and family! As some of you may know, and for those who don't, my mom Liz was diagnosed with colon cancer this past April, almost exactly a year from being diagnosed with endometrium cancer last April 2015. As you can imagine, this came as a shock to the family, espacially after just getting through her first battle with cancer.  Prior to that, my mom was also diagnosed with a genetic mutation called Lynch Syndrom, which basically increases the probability of contracting various types of cancer as well as makes treatment more difficult.

During testing for the mutation, they discovered her colon cancer. She underwent a partial colectomy to remove the cancerous tumor from her colon on the 11th of May, but after mutiple complications in the days immediatly following her surgery, she had to undergo a second emergency colostomy on the 13th at 1am. They discovered she was suffering from distended intestines due to a leakage in her small intestine from the 1st procedure which was causing her to experience severe amounts of pain. They also discovered blood clots in her small intestine, as well as her liver which were making matters worse. There were additional complications for nearly two weeks following her second surgery where she was unable to eat or drink for over 3 weeks, and underwent 2 additional surgeries in that time.

After spending 24 days in the hospital, my mom had a total of 5 x-rays, 5 cat scans, 4 surgeries and countless different blood tests before finally being able to go home. She will continue to have doctors visits in the coming months, as well as another major surgery in August to reattach her colon. Amazingly, even after all that had happened, my mom didn't complain once and was always staying positive. My dad never left the hospital and was by her side the entire time, supporting her every step of the way. I know that they are focusing on the challenges at hand, but I am making this page in hopes that we can make the future financial challenges a little more bearable. All I can ask for is your good vibes and positive thoughts in this crazy time. If you are able to give financially, honestly anything helps and would be truly appreciated.

We wanted to thank you all for your thoughts and prayers, and I will continue to update on my mom's progress throughout this journey.
