Liz is fighting cancer and she is going to win!

Liz turned 40 on October 3rd and within two weeks was hospitalized and diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), an aggressive form of blood and bone marrow cancer. Liz immediately underwent seven straight days of chemotherapy and then spent an additional three weeks in the hospital. Her husband, Jeremy, her two daughters (ages 3 and 4), and her family and her friends – and of course the doctors and nurses – are doing all we can to help her win this battle. We’re in this together, and we know she can pull through this, but it is still a long road to remission.

We – the Cardona and McLain families – Liz’s family by blood and marriage – are setting up this page to help with the mushrooming costs associated with cancer. Insurance doesn’t cover everything, and there are so many related costs that Liz and her family are facing – meals, child care, travel expenses, and so on. Liz has a lot more fighting ahead, both in the hospital and out.
