Elizabeth "Liz" Lomeli's Stage 4 Cancer Fight
Donation protected
Dear family, friends, loved ones, and supporters,
With hopeful hearts, we are choosing to share our story so that we can provide care for Elizabeth “Liz” Lomeli as she battles stage 4 cancer and related complications. She will have no income and there is an uncertainty of out-of-pocket medical expenses. Your donations will help cover medical and daily living expenses so Liz can save her strength for the battle ahead as she has been told she has 3-4 months left to live without treatment or 1-2 years with treatment.
The current treatment plan is 3 months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. At the end of the 3 months, scans will be completed to determine progress and reassess treatment plan.
Liz’s Medical Timeline
June 28, 2023 - Liz was diagnosed with Stage 1 Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer) after tissue samples from a uterine procedure in early June came back cancerous.
The treatment plan was to have a hysterectomy surgery to completely remove her uterus and fallopian tubes, but keep her ovaries for the possibility of still being able to have children. We proactively contacted both the OB/GYN office and doctor’s office to try to expedite the process however, weeks went by with no confirmed surgery date. By the end of July, she was told by both offices that her medical records were still being reviewed and will be contacted “shortly” to schedule an appointment.
August 7, 2023 - Liz went to the emergency room because she was unable to urinate on her own. The emergency room put a folly catheter in her bladder to provide her the ability to urinate. While in the emergency room, Liz was given a tentative surgery date for the hysterectomy on September 22, 2023, which is almost 3 months after the original diagnosis of Stage 1 Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer).
Later that afternoon Liz received a phone call for an office consultation appointment on August 8, 2023 for her hysterectomy surgery.
August 8, 2023 - During her consultation, a pelvic exam was conducted. The nurse practitioner said Liz’s cancer has spread, she is no longer eligible for the hysterectomy and scheduled her for CT and PET scans on August 11, 2023.
August 11, 2023 - CT and PET scans completed. Results were pending.
August 15, 2023 - While with the Oncologist, Liz was told the cancer has spread to other areas of her pelvis and has largely spread over both of her lungs.
In less than 2 months her cancer has progressed into Stage 4 Endometrioid Adenocarcinoma (uterine cancer).
August 16 through August 25, 2023 - pending approvals for MRI, biopsy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy.
We will make updates about her battle ahead below:
Upcoming Dates
August 29, 2023 - MRI
September 1, 2023 - Biopsy
To be determined - Chemotherapy & Immunotherapy treatments pending MRI and Biopsy results.
