Early last week, Lizeth began having symptoms of dehydration and shortness of breath. Friday 1/22/21 she was taken to the emergency room as the symptoms worsened to slurred speech and constant vomiting and she became very pale. She was immediately admitted into the ICU as her blood sugar was over 500 and she was going into organ failure. By evening, she became unconscious as her symptoms continued to worsen. Her doctors diagnosed her with DKA, diabetic ketoacidosis. She regained consciousness Sunday evening but is still in a delicate state in the ICU.

Lizeth is a current student of The University ofTexas - San Antonio. She has a huge heart for all of those around her and loves to always give back to community. Upon graduation, she hopes to become a nurse in the years to come.
