Lizeth Journey

Hello, everyone with heavy hearts. I am going to begin talking about what had taken our whole family by storm late last year. My mother, Lizeth Ybarra, was diagnosed with AML (Acute Myeloid Leukemia) on December 16th, 2022. We had no idea how to process this terrifying & truly heartbreaking news. All we knew was that we needed to act quickly and thank goodness for preventive care. She began treatment at Mountain View Hospital on January 5th, 2023. No one knew the horror and torment. This was going to be on her body. She fought and continues to fight a long hard battle receiving both chemo & radiation for that full month. In that month we as a family took our rounds staying in the hospital. We were extremely blessed to have immedia

te

family make their way out to help out. A special thank you to our dad her husband Doug Ybarra. Always staying by her side whenever humanly possible and her our Tia her sister Maritza Silva. Thank you to all of our family, friends, & loved ones who made sure to play amazing parts and roles to ensure she felt she had support during this battle. The horrors this took on her mind, body, and soul were indescribable. However, if you know anything about Mrs. Lizeth Ybarra is that she does not like to lose, so there was no way she was going down without a fight. The next months that came along were really hard on her. She was home but continued to see her oncologist weekly. She quickly got referred over to Scripps Geen Hospital in San Diego California and made the temporary move on July 27th, 2023. There she continued care with amazing doctors and staff. She had a bone marrow transplant on August 2nd, 2023. We are blessed to say that she is in remission and will be living in a hotel in San Diego California for the next three to six months during this healing phase and to ensure that the transplant was successful. With that being said, we were not prepared for the extra expenditures as far as medical treatment and prescriptions and are asking for some help as she stays out there during this time. If you are not able to donate, we are asking that you share this post to try to make our goal. Thank you so much if you've made it all the way here.
