Lizama Family

On Tuesday December 15th, 2020 our lives became something you think “would never happen to me” there has been many “stories” and point of views of our lives, but the time has come to shed some light of a piece of our reality. Richard was my best friend for over 10 years, we shared countless laughs, endless love, cherished memories, amazing triumphs, growth and beautiful moments I will never forget but we also shared our brokenness, our pain, and demons together.

Richard struggled with mental illness for years but I never left his side and even now I will still be the one who stands by him and gives him the service he deserves to put him to Rest In Peace. I have never painted him as a villain, I tried to help and protect him best I could, and I will continue to do that no matter the narrative that is being shared about our lives.

On the dreadful night of the 15th, I held him as he took his final breaths, even if I was the target of his pain, but I am strong enough to know Richard may have been gunning for me that night but his goal was to end the pain and heartbreak he lived with for his entire life. Our son will forever be affected by the things he witnessed that night, and I pray the therapy helps.

In our 10 years I was more than a wife, I was his best friend, I was his mother, his father, his countless family who turned their backs when Richy became too much, there is no one else in his “family” that can say they were there and supported Richard even through the hard times.

I do not carry the burden of Richy, I carry the memory of him, the love for him, and now the responsibility of ensuring he has a peaceful beautiful service, for the friends and few family members who have shown love and support to our devastating heartbreak, to put his pain and heartbreak to rest.

I am reaching out for help, which who knows me and Richard was hard for us to do, but at this time I am asking for any help to give him the services he deserves, for the man who made you laugh til it hurt, who would drive a million hours to see you, who came from nothing and built an empire, who knew every song and would make up words to the ones he didn’t, who played video games for hours cause Jonathan needed one more game. I am asking for compassion and understanding in our hard time, anything will help, but more than anything we ask for prayer! Tons of Gods love and peace for our lives. Even if you can’t help financially with the hard times we are all going through, I hope you can share this. Thank you - Kimberly
