Road to Mayo Clinic Fundraiser for Liza

January 2021, Liza stands up and falls to the floor. The next day this happens again only as she starts to fall she grabs the fridge and the door swings open and fractures her eye socket. We go to the dr and they start testing but find nothing. Two days later she collapsed on the stairs, her head hit the step edge giving her a concussion. The next morning she gets up and starts working on her schoolwork but her right hand curls up and in and starts to shake. Immediately we call the dr, they order order bloodwork. We are told to wait and watch for changes. After a few months her arm starts shaking, then her shoulder, progressing to her neck and head. We have been sent to drs from Lafayette to Indianapolis, including the children’s hospital and seen every specialist from cardiology to neurology. Along with her normal Riley drs and her pediatrician. No one can agree on what is causing it. The neurologist said it was not epilepsy so I should just video her next episode. June 2023 we are out shopping and she collapses at the store. Her head hits the floor and she is shaking all over. The neurologist yells at me because I didn’t video it. Her pulmonary doctor, the cardiologist, and her pediatrician all decide that Mayo Clinic is her best option. The estimated cost to be seen there is $4,500-$6,000 (that is after insurance) not including gas, hotel cost, and food. I need to get my girl help, she has been through so much and is starting to withdraw in fear of having a seizure in front of people. All funds will go to the hospital costs, co-pays, travel, and incidental expenses. Her appointment is in November so we need to have the money raised before then. We will be hosting a fundraiser dinner and silent auction on Saturday September 2nd, a yard sale Friday sept 15th, and we will have a booth at the Apple Popcorn Festival in Brookston IN on Saturday September 16.
