Liz Klein Ficeto - URGENT UPDATE 3-4-24

3/4/24 URGENT UPDATE: Thank you so much to those who have donated and shared! Liz recently had another surgery to remove lymph nodes where the cancer has spread. She is suffering from complications from the surgery, and has not been able to return to work since our previous update.

As you know, Liz has long since exhausted her paid leave. It is so difficult to ask for help, but financial assistance is what she and her family need right now. Please, if you are able, donate and/or share Liz’s story. It breaks my heart that my beautiful cousin is worried about her family’s financial future when she needs to focus on fighting this horrible cancer.

Many of you know Liz, but for those who don’t, this is my cousin. Liz has been battling cancer. As you can imagine, it hasn’t been easy physically, emotionally or financially. She has used all her paid sick leave for the treatments she’s needed up to now. Unfortunately, while her sick leave has come to an end, her treatments and hospitalizations have not.

As much as she wishes she could return to work, it is simply not possible at this time. Liz will continue to miss work as a para for the NYC DOE.

The loss of her paycheck places a big financial and emotional strain on Liz and her family, at a time when they want and need to be focused on her recovery. And this is where you come in. You can help alleviate some of that stress. All money raised here goes directly to Liz. Together, we can offer Liz and her family a hand and give them one less thing to worry about.
