My good friend Elizabeth Pladsen got a call from her boyfriend while at work that her apartment/shared home had caught fire due to the owner's dryer. Thankfully, everyone in the home, including Liz and Jesse's puppy Tater Tot, were unharmed. The firefighters had to charge into their kitchen with the hoses to extinguish the blazes just on the other side of the separating wall between the two living spaces. Their entire basement apartment is now flooded, and clothing is either soaked, burned, or damaged from the smoke. This is an incredible blow, considering last year, her mother passed away after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. They were just able to celebrate their mother's first birthday since she has been gone on June 11th.
Liz is an incredibly hard-working mother/friend/daughter/girlfriend/and sister. After today's tragedy, she’ll be taking some time off of work to figure out her next steps. She will be trying to get in contact with the Red Cross, and this Gofundme is to help her with any other expenses and personal items she has to replace that she couldn’t salvage. Any donations would be greatly appreciated by Liz and her loved ones. - Ceara

My mom is the most generous and selfless person I know. She always puts people before herself, even to the point of feeling embarrassed/ashamed to reach out through a donation site like this. She is one to offer up anything to help people, not often accepting help from others. Time and time again she has been hit by setbacks, and it breaks my heart considering everything she does for the people she loves. I want my mom to be able to catch a break, breathe, and know that people truly care for her and what she is going through. I appreciate any help we can give to her and hope she can also get the help she needs through the Red Cross. - Guen Pladsen
